STUDENT RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES POLICY

ScientiMax Learning Programs Inc.

This Student Rights and Responsibilities Policy establishes the expectations, rights, responsibilities, and standards of conduct applicable to students participating in ScientiMax Learning Programs Inc. courses, programs, assessments, simulations, educational services, and related activities.

This policy promotes professionalism, academic integrity, fairness, respect, and a productive learning environment for all participants.

1. Student Rights

Students are entitled to:

• Access purchased course content and educational services in accordance with applicable agreements and policies;
• Be treated fairly, respectfully, and professionally;
• Learn in an environment free from discrimination, harassment, bullying, intimidation, and unlawful conduct;
• Receive clear information regarding course requirements, assessments, completion criteria, and applicable policies;
• Have personal information handled in accordance with ScientiMax’s Privacy Policy;
• Receive reasonable support relating to course access and administrative matters;
• Request access to their educational records where permitted by applicable law;
• Submit complaints, concerns, or appeals in accordance with the procedures set out in this policy; and
• Request reasonable accommodation in accordance with applicable human rights legislation.

2. Student Responsibilities

Students are responsible for:

• Conducting themselves professionally and respectfully in all course-related interactions;
• Complying with all ScientiMax policies;
• Providing accurate registration information;
• Maintaining account security and password confidentiality;
• Completing coursework honestly and independently unless collaboration is expressly authorized;
• Protecting confidential information encountered during simulations, exercises, or training activities;
• Respecting the intellectual property rights of ScientiMax and third parties; and
• Using educational resources solely for authorized purposes.

3. Professional Conduct

Students shall:

• Treat instructors, staff, and other participants with courtesy and respect;
• Communicate professionally in all course-related interactions;
• Refrain from abusive, threatening, discriminatory, harassing, defamatory, or disruptive conduct; and
• Avoid behaviour that interferes with the learning experience of others.

4. Academic Integrity

Students must maintain the highest standards of academic honesty.

Prohibited conduct includes:

• Cheating;
• Plagiarism;
• Impersonation;
• Submitting work completed by another individual;
• Falsifying records or submissions;
• Unauthorized collaboration;
• Circumventing assessment requirements; and
• Providing assessment answers, assessment materials, or proprietary learning resources to others.

ScientiMax may investigate suspected violations and impose appropriate sanctions in accordance with Section 11 of this policy.

5. Artificial Intelligence — Student Use and ScientiMax Disclosure

Student AI Use

Unless expressly authorized by ScientiMax, students shall not use artificial intelligence tools, language models, automated systems, or similar technologies to:

• Complete assessments on their behalf;
• Generate assessment responses intended to represent the student’s own work;
• Circumvent learning objectives;
• Misrepresent competency or knowledge; or
• Obtain an unfair academic advantage.

Where AI use is permitted for a specific activity, students must comply with any instructions or parameters communicated by ScientiMax.

ScientiMax’s Use of AI

ScientiMax may use artificial intelligence technologies, including AI-powered patient simulation tools, automated assessment systems, competency evaluation systems, and related technologies as part of its educational delivery and assessment processes.

Students will be informed where AI evaluation forms part of a graded or credentialed assessment.

Where a student believes a technical error in an AI system has materially affected their assessment result, they may request a manual review in accordance with Section 10 of this policy.

6. Account Sharing

Students may not:

• Share login credentials with any other person;
• Permit others to access their account;
• Access courses through another student’s account; or
• Misrepresent their identity in connection with any course, simulation, or assessment.

Each enrollment is intended solely for the registered student.

7. Recording and Content Protection

Students shall not:

• Record course content by any means;
• Capture video, audio, screenshots, photographs, or screen recordings of educational materials;
• Reproduce or distribute ScientiMax content;
• Upload ScientiMax materials to websites, cloud storage platforms, AI systems, social media platforms, repositories, or third-party services;
• Share proprietary educational materials with any unauthorized person; or
• Use ScientiMax materials, simulations, assessments, recordings, educational resources, or proprietary content to train, fine-tune, evaluate, develop, improve, or support any artificial intelligence, machine learning system, large language model, or similar technology without ScientiMax’s prior written authorization.

These obligations are consistent with and subject to the ScientiMax Terms and Conditions.

8. Simulation Participation

Students participating in simulations, virtual patient encounters, competency assessments, practical exercises, or AI-powered learning activities must:

• Participate honestly and in good faith;
• Refrain from manipulating simulation outcomes;
• Avoid using unauthorized assistance;
• Complete activities independently unless otherwise permitted; and
• Refrain from intentionally exploiting, probing, testing, disrupting, circumventing, or attempting to manipulate simulation systems, scoring systems, assessment mechanisms, or artificial intelligence tools used by ScientiMax.

Where a student believes a technical malfunction has materially affected their simulation result, they may submit a written review request to in**@********ax.ca within fifteen (15) business days of the affected assessment.

9. Accommodation and Accessibility

ScientiMax is committed to providing accessible educational services in accordance with applicable human rights legislation, including the British Columbia Human Rights Code.

Students who require accommodations due to a disability, medical condition, or other protected ground under applicable law are encouraged to contact ScientiMax prior to enrollment or as soon as a need arises.

Accommodation requests should be submitted in writing to in**@********ax.ca.

ScientiMax will consider each request individually and will work cooperatively with the student to identify reasonable accommodations to the extent possible without undue hardship.

10. Complaints and Appeals

Students may submit written complaints or appeals regarding:

• Administrative decisions;
• Assessment outcomes;
• Simulation results where a technical error is suspected;
• Course access issues; or
• Policy concerns.

Submissions must be made in writing to in**@********ax.ca within sixty (60) calendar days of the event giving rise to the concern.

ScientiMax will acknowledge receipt of the submission and provide a substantive response within fifteen (15) business days of receipt.

Where additional time is required due to the complexity of the matter, ScientiMax will notify the student and provide an updated response timeline.

If a student remains dissatisfied following ScientiMax’s response, they may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia for privacy-related matters or seek guidance from Consumer Protection BC for consumer-related matters.

11. Disciplinary Action

Where ScientiMax determines that a student has violated this policy, one or more of the following actions may be taken depending on the nature and severity of the violation:

• Written warning;
• Educational intervention;
• Assessment invalidation;
• Grade adjustment;
• Temporary suspension of account access;
• Permanent removal from a course or program;
• Revocation, suspension, correction, or invalidation of certificates or credentials; or
• Legal action where appropriate.

Where reasonably practicable, students will be provided an opportunity to respond before a certificate, credential, or record of completion is revoked, suspended, or invalidated.

ScientiMax will endeavour to apply sanctions proportionate to the nature and severity of the violation.

12. Statutory Rights

Nothing in this policy limits, excludes, waives, or replaces any rights or remedies that a student may have under applicable consumer protection, human rights, privacy, or other legislation.

Where applicable law requires a different outcome, ScientiMax will comply with that legal requirement.

13. Governing Law

This policy shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada.

14. Policy Updates

ScientiMax may revise this policy from time to time to reflect changes in legal requirements, business practices, technologies, educational standards, or operational needs.

Updated versions will be published on the ScientiMax website and become effective on the date specified in the revised version.

The version of this policy in effect at the time of a student’s enrollment shall govern that student’s relationship with ScientiMax unless otherwise required by applicable law.
